Product Overview — F727 90° Cabinet Door Hinge (Standard and Hydraulic Soft Close)

TheF727 90 degree cabinet door hinge is a concealed clip-on cabinet hinge supplied in two matched versions on the same tooling: a standard free-swing hinge and a hydraulic damped soft close hinge. Both share the same cup, the same base and the same drilling set-out, so a furniture factory can run one boring programme and offer the customer a choice at the assembly bench. The side-by-side photograph below shows the plain arm on the left and the hydraulic hinge with its integrated damper cylinder on the right.

Guangzhou Gorgeous Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd. builds this 90 degree cabinet hinge from cold rolled steel plate with a nickel plated finish, in full overlay, half overlay and inset cranking. It is the workhorse concealed hinge specification for kitchen and furniture programs where a normal 95–105° swing is required, and where the soft-close option has to be available without changing the door drilling.

Two Versions, One Drilling Set-Out

The commercial advantage of the F727 programme is that the entry-level cabinet hinge and the upgraded soft close hinge are interchangeable. The cup geometry, the flange screw positions and the base are identical, so a distributor can stock one drilling template and two hinge grades, and a furniture factory can move a customer order from standard to damped closing without re-programming the boring machine. Both versions clip onto the same mounting base, which also simplifies spares: if a damped hinge is later replaced, a standard hinge will fit, and the reverse is equally true.

The damped version closes the last arc of travel under piston control. That removes the slam noise, reduces the shock load carried by the hinge screws and the chipboard around them, and stops the door rebounding off the cabinet front — the three failure modes that shorten the life of an undamped cabinet hinge in daily-use housing furniture.

Key Features and Benefits

  • Standard and hydraulic versions — one 90 degree hinge platform, with or without the soft close damper.
  • Identical set-out — both hinge grades bore at the same position and depth, so production needs one programme.
  • Integrated damper — the piston is sealed inside the damped hinge; no separate damper box to stock or press-fit.
  • Cold rolled steel (Q195–Q235) — plate pressing keeps the hinge knuckle tight so the door does not sag.
  • Nickel plated finish — matched colour across cup, arm and base of each hinge set; tolerant of handling.
  • Clip-on detachable joint — the door lifts off this cabinet hinge without tools for adjustment and service.
  • Three-dimensional adjustment — lateral, depth and height adjustment screws on the hingebase.
  • Overlay choice — full overlay, half overlay and inset cranking on the same hingeplatform.
  • Slotted base holes — the mounting base of this hinge stays adjustable after the first screw pass.
  • OEM / ODM welcome — logo marking, plating colour, screw selection and retail or bulk packing.

Matching the Damper to the Door

Damping is a function of door mass, not of hinge preference. A hydraulic hinge that is too strong for a light door makes the closing feel slow and lifeless; one that is too weak for a heavy door fails to control the close at all. Before quoting the damped version of this 90 degree cabinet hinge we ask for door height, width, panel material and approximate weight, then confirm whether the standard damped hinge cup is correct, or whether the door needs an additional load-bearing hinge alongside the damped one. Tall wardrobe doors are the usual case where the soft close hinge specification has to be reviewed rather than assumed.

Overlay is the most common source of concealed hinge returns on export orders, so every F727 quotation is confirmed against a door elevation before production. Send the elevation and we will return a hinge schedule showing, door by door, which cranking and which version — standard or damped — is required.

Material, Plating and Service Life

The F727 cabinet hinge is pressed from cold rolled steel and plated with nickel over a copper undercoat on all visible surfaces. Cold rolled stock is specified because a concealed hinge carries the door as a cantilever: variation in plate thickness at the knuckle becomes visible as door sag within months. Cup, arm and base of each hinge set are sampled together so the three parts of one set share colour and tolerance.

The damper in the hydraulic version is a sealed piston unit. Being sealed, it is unaffected by cabinet dust and cleaning products; being inside the hinge rather than mounted on the carcass, it cannot be mislaid during assembly and needs no additional boring on the panel. It is life-tested on our cycle rig before the soft close hinge leaves the plant.

Installation Procedure

  1. Set out the door. Place the top and bottom hinge 100–150 mm from the corner and space any intermediate hingesevenly.
  2. Size the hinge count from weight.Twohinges per door up to 1,000 mm height, one more for each additional 500 mm or 5 kg of door weight.
  3. Drill the cup bores with a sharp bit to the confirmed depth so the hinge flange sits flush with the door face.
  4. Fit the hinge cups and drive the two supplied screws through each flange.
  5. Screw the bases to the carcass side panels into the slotted holes, leaving lateral adjustment free.
  6. Clip the door on — press each hinge arm onto its base until the release clip seats.
  7. Adjust in three axes using the lateral, depth and height screws on the hinge base, then tighten.
  8. Test the close. On the damped version, push the door from half open and confirm the soft close hinge takes over and shuts it without any bang.

Typical Applications

  • Kitchen wall and base cabinets in housing and contract projects
  • Wardrobes, closets and sliding-door fronted cabinets
  • Bathroom vanities and laundry cabinetry
  • Office furniture, lockers, medical and laboratory casework
  • Retail display fixtures and showroom joinery
  • Flat-pack furniture programs where the damped hinge is an upgrade option
  • Replacement concealed hinge for furniture originally built to a standard 90° specification

OEM, ODM and Wholesale

We supply this 90 degree cabinet hinge to hardware brands, importers, distributors and furniture factories under their own specification. For the F727 we support logo stamping or laser marking on the hinge cup and arm, custom plating colour and salt-spray grade, alternative screws for chipboard, MDF, ply or aluminium profiles, bulk inner boxes, colour boxes, blister cards and shelf-ready retail packaging with your barcode, and fully neutral packing for re-export. Customer-developed hinge tooling is never sold to a third party, and drawings are handled under NDA on request.

Quality Control

  • Material — steel grade, strip thickness and hardness verified per heat lot before the hingedies.
  • Pressing — cup dimensions, flange flatness, arm profile and knuckle alignment on a sampling plan.
  • Damper — closing-time sampling on the assembled soft close hinge, so the damped arc is consistent between cartons.
  • Plating — coating thickness, adhesion cross-cut and colour match across cup, arm and base.
  • Corrosion — neutral salt spray sampling against the agreed protection grade.
  • Cycling — automated open-close life testing of the cabinet hinge, logged per production lot.
  • Pre-shipment — AQL inspection on quantity, accessories, packing and appearance; third-party inspection welcome.

Packaging and Delivery

Standard packing of the F727 hinge is one hinge cup, one mounting base and the matching screws per polybag, ten bags per inner box and one hundred pieces per export carton, with desiccant and an ocean-freight rated outer. Because the damper is internal, the damped soft close hinge packs flat with no loose parts. Loose bulk packing, colour box, blister card and custom carton printing are all available, and we issue the packing list with cube and gross weight at quotation stage so consolidation can be planned on the hingeorder.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q1. What is the difference between the two versions of this hinge?
The standard hinge swings freely and closes by the door's own momentum. The hydraulic version adds a sealed piston inside the hinge cup that damps the final arc, so the door closes slowly and silently. Everything else — cup, base, drilling — is common to both.

Q2. Can I switch an order from standard to hydraulic without changing my machinery?
Yes. That is the point of this 90 degree cabinet hinge programme: both versions use the same bore position and depth and the same mounting base, so your existing drilling programme for the hinge is unchanged.

Q3. How many hinges does my door need?
Size from door height and weight, not from the swing angle: two hinges up to 1,000 mm, then one more for each additional 500 mm or 5 kg. The damper controls closing speed; it does not carry the door.

Q4. Which overlay should I order on the F727 hinge?
Full overlay when the door covers the whole side panel, half overlay when two doors share a panel, inset when the door sits inside the opening. Send the door elevation and we will set the cranking on each hinge line of your schedule.

Q5. Is the soft close hinge available in stainless steel?
This listing is cold rolled steel, nickel plated. For marine, RV or high-humidity programs we quote the same 90 degree hinge specification in stainless steel or with a reinforced plating build-up.

Q6. Do you supply the screws with the hinge?
Yes. Each hinge set is packed with the fixing screws matched to your panel material — chipboard, MDF, ply or profile — and we can pre-drive screws at the factory for flat-pack programs.
