G-C917 is a square glass spigot post made from stainless steel 304 for frameless glass balustrade on balconies, terraces, stair landings and walkways. The post stands 400 mm above the mounting surface, with a 40 x 40 mm square tube and a 78 x 78 mm base plate that fixes to concrete, steel or a timber kerb with four M8 anchors. Glass is held in a machined slot at the head of the post and locked by a bolted cover plate, so the post needs no through-hole in the glass and no heavy bottom rail.
The clamping face is fitted with EPDM gaskets so the tempered glass edge sits on a soft bearing surface, which removes point loads and lets the panel take wind and crowd pressure evenly. Two hex bolts per post allow the installer to set the plate square and to re-tension the joint after the glass is levelled. Because the post is mirror polished after welding, the tube, the cover plate and the base plate share one gloss level, which keeps a long run of balustrade visually consistent. Posts are normally supplied with matching base covers, handrail brackets and end caps, and every post in a project is drilled from the same jig so anchor positions repeat from bay to bay.
